Outdoor Therapy & Water Work

Why Nature?

Nature has always been a powerful co-therapist in my work. There’s something inherently calming and regulating about being in natural surroundings. Whether it’s the sound of wind through trees or the view of open sky, nature invites us to slow down, breathe deeper, and reconnect with ourselves.

Outdoor therapy can take place in my private garden or, if suitable, in other natural spaces. The environment can help us to feel more at ease, more embodied, and more connected.

Wild Therapy is a specific approach that honours our deep interconnection with the natural world. It recognises that healing doesn't happen in isolation - but in relationship, with ourselves, with others, and with nature.

“There’s something about nature, about the garden, that you have to be truthful to—and it will be truthful back to you.” - Monty Don

Cold Water Immersion & Therapeutic Support

Since 2017, I’ve personally practiced cold water dipping, and it’s had a profound impact on my mental and emotional well-being. The experience of cold water immersion, its rhythm, intensity, and grounding effects - can offer powerful support for presence, emotional processing, and embodied healing.

While I don’t provide formal cold water training, I do offer therapeutic support around your cold water journey. This may include:

  • Pre- or post-dip emotional support
  • Reflections on what the water evokes
  • A safe space to explore vulnerability, fear, strength, or resilience

Note: Outdoor therapy and activities like cold water immersion are offered within the bounds of personal responsibility. You are responsible for assessing your own physical capabilities and safety.
